NYCDDC, HWS2015CW, REIS for Sidewalks Construction

Assistant Resident Engineer (Acting) for the reconstruction and installation of sidewalks, adjacent curbs, and pedestrian ramps as necessary, in various parts of the five Boroughs. The project scope included, but not limited to close inspection and supervision of contractor’s activities, field survey/inspection, and mark-outs, concrete sidewalk and curb construction, concrete testing, pedestrian ramps, pavement resurfacing, drainage, utility relocation, catch basins, MPT, community outreach, and coordination with NYC agencies and utility companies such as Con Edison, phone, and cable.

Work also involved ensuring that all work was performed in compliance with OSHA health and safety standards and other City and State requirements and procedures. Duties involved the supervision of all activities of the project, ensuring compliance with all plans and specifications and identifying all errors in plans to ensure the optimal working of construction personnel. Managed and maintained accurate field notes and maintained the flow of technical information and ensured that Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) were implemented.

Coordinated with all project parties, NYCDDC, DOT, utilities, and community boards, and reviewed monthly payments for the contractor. (09/16 - 10/16)
